Brand new push in Congress to prevent Shariah invasion Bill intended to assure citizens they won't be governed by Islam
Congressman Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., introduced a bill to the House of Representatives that seeks to prevent Islam's radical Shariah law from gaining a foothold in the U.S. legal system, as it has in other countries.
Tancredo introduced HR 6975, the Jihad Prevention Act, last week. If made into law, the bill would allow American authorities to prevent advocates of Shariah law from entering the country, revoke the visa of any foreigners that did champion Shariah law and revoke naturalization for citizens that seek to implement Shariah law in the U.S.
'Compete to Win' report says SPP too slow; promotes creation of a Canadian Competitiveness Council to set economic policy priorities
...With respect to the Security and Prosperity Partnership, Compete to Win states:
"The chief mechanism to deal with Canada–US border issues, the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), has yielded too little progress in improving crossborder flows. Indeed, Canada risks being side-swiped by the preoccupation the U.S. has with its southern border. The most recent SPP Summit confirms that little progress can be expected within a relevant time frame.
“In this context, the Panel believes that it is imperative to intensify our bilateral effort with the US, focusing on facilitating the flow of goods, services and people across the Canada–US border. If we are forced to choose between trilateral and bilateral efforts, the latter should be chosen. Enhanced public recognition of the benefits of the Canada–US trading relationship south of the border should also be part of this effort."
Among the specific recommendations in the report:
URANIUM MINING... COMPETITION... TAXATION... INTERNAL TRADE... CANADA-U.S. ECONOMIC TIES... INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT... REGULATION... COMPETITIVENESS COUNCIL...
Tancredo takes McCain to task on immigration Congressman's letter hints at accusations of pandering, flip-flopping Posted: June 24, 2008 9:54 pm Eastern
Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado drew attention early in the Republican primaries as a champion of securing the nation's borders against illegal crossing and fighting against amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Now, in an open letter to presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, Tancredo is questioning McCain's private meeting with Hispanic leaders in Chicago last week and challenging the candidate to stand firm on border security, regardless of the audience he's addressing.
With a finger-in-the-chest tone, the congressman asks McCain whether he backpedaled on border security pledges in Chicago, where it was reported the Arizona senator promised an audience of 150 Hispanic leaders "comprehensive immigration reform."

Six men in police tactical clothing are suspected of shooting a man to death, firing more than 100 rounds into his Phoenix home in what some are calling a Mexican drug cartel hit.
Special Assignments Units heard shots coming from a nearby neighborhood and began to drive toward the noise Sunday. Detectives said once police gained entry into the home, they found the body of Andrew Williams, 30, shot numerous times, according to Arizona Daily News.
I received an e-mail from Howard Phillips today. I was VERY encouraged to see this (especially since Tom was the first candidate on the campaign trail that spoke out publicly against the NAU!):
Representative Tancredo: Americans need to unite and fight back!
I am pleased to announce that former 2008 GOP Presidential candidate, U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo, has become the latest participant with our NAU War Room. In an exclusive interview with the NAU War Room’s Art Harmon, Congressman Tancredo called on all Americans to learn all they can about plans to absorb America into a “North American Union” (NAU) with Mexico and Canada. He also urged all Americans to fight back – and you can do just that simply by going to our official NAU War Room site, found at www.nauwarroom.org.
Visit today and see the Tancredo interview in its entirety. Then follow Congressman Tancredo’s call and sign our anti-NAU Petition, take our National NAU Survey and, last but not least – send in a much-needed and most-generous donation to help us continue our drive to expose and halt the “North American Union,” the “NAFTA Superhighway,” and the ongoing erasing of our borders and our liberty.
Oppose H.R. 5405 and a Social Security / National ID Card
An Alternative Plan for Implementing the REAL ID Act
House bill H.R. 5405, short titled the 'Social Security Identity Theft Prevention Act,' was introduced Feb. 13, 2008 by Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL). The stated purpose of H.R. 5405 is to protect seniors from identity theft and to strengthen national security. The bill is currently in referral to the House Ways and Means Committee.
The bill calls for redesigning the Social Security card to include a photo, fingerprint, barcode, magnetic strip, and computer data chip. That would for all practical purposes transform the Social Security card into a National ID card administered by the Social Security Administration.
In 2005 the Real ID Act, which passed in the House but stalled in the Senate as stand alone bill H.R 418, was foisted on America by attaching it as a Trojan Horse rider to H.R. 1268, a must-pass Asian tsunami relief and Iraq emergency supplemental appropriations bill (see H.R. 1268 House and Senate votes). As a consequence all 50 states are under orders to meet federal standards for redesigned driver's licenses, effectively turning them into National ID cards by the end of 2009. Implementation was originally planned for 2008 but postponed due to growing opposition.
The plan to force state governments to make driver's licenses Real ID Act compliant is in jeopardy due to objections by a number of state governments and grassroots resistance. H.R. 5405 appears to be an attempt to circumvent resistance at the state level by establishing a National ID card through a federally administered vehicle, the Social Security system.

Tancredo Criticizes Pope’s Comments on Immigration
( WASHINGTON, D.C. ) – Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) today criticized the Pope’s comments regarding U.S. immigration policy. According to reports, Pope Benedict XVI said the United States must do “everything possible to fight ... all forms of violence so that immigrants may lead dignified lives.”
“I would like to know what part of our lax immigration policy is considered violent,” Tancredo said. “I fail to see how accepting more refugees than any other nation –and providing free health care, education, housing and social service benefits to millions of illegal aliens is in any way ‘violent’ or ‘degrading.’”
Many of you know that I am a Baptist. But did you know that Patrick was a Baptist too? I've know this - little known - fact for quite some time. So, since it is "St. Patrick's Day" I thought I would make a post in honor of the real saint Patrick.
St. Patrick was a Baptist
Rev. John Summerfield Wimbish, D.D.
The source for this record is a 1952 tract, published by the Calvary Radio Ministry, New York City, New York. It was part of the library of the late Elder Jarrel E. Huffman, pastor of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Duncan, Oklahoma from 1978 until 1997. Every attempt has been made to preserve the style and structure of the original tract, although some formatting concessions were made to facilitate this medium.

_______________________________ A word about the message:
The sermon, "St. Patrick was a Baptist," was delivered to a thronged congregation at the Calvary Baptist Church of New York City by the pastor, Dr. John Summerfield Wimbish, on March 12, 1952, just a few days before the phenomenal St. Patrick's Day parade.
On the historic day 95,000 people marched up New York's fashionable Fifth Avenue and an estimated 1,500,000 spectators lined the streets. On the steps of St. Patrick's Cathedral stood Cardinal Spellman and other ecclesiastics to witness the spectacle. Further up Fifth Avenue, the reviewing stand bore such dignitaries as Mayor and Mrs. Vincent Impellitteri, former Postmaster General James A. Farley and scores of city and state officials and military and church leaders.
The message was offered to a world-wide radio audience and there has been an unprecedented demand for it. _______________________________
SAINT PATRICK WAS A BAPTIST. After a cautious and critical study of reputable writings, I am thoroughly convinced that he was not affiliated in any way with the Roman hierarchy....

Democratic presidential debate in Texas.
As you likely know Austin, Texas, hosted a presidential debate between the two democratic candidates for president last week. The nationally televised debate came in advance of important primary elections to be held in Texas and Ohio.
Trans Texas Corridor, a National issue.
CorridorWatch and other citizen groups believe that the Trans Texas Corridor (NAFTA Superhighway) issue is important far beyond the borders of Texas. One of those groups, Independent Texans, sought to have a question about the TTC included in the presidential debate. In doing so they launched a campaign with their members to lobby CNN, a debate sponsor, to ask the candidates about the TTC (NAFTA) superhighway.
CNN agrees to include TTC / NAFTA question.
By February 20, it was widely reported that CNN would include a question about the TTC NAFTA highway. A blog from the San Antonio Express-News transportation writer and other media outlets, including Austin radio stations, told Texans that the question would be asked. In fact CNN's Political Director Sam Feist had contacted her asked Independent Texans to stop their e-mail campaign with the assurance that the question had already been prepared.
One question, that's all that was requested.
Despite the enormous importance of the issue and the national impact the TTC will certainly have on America we were satisfied with a single question. That question would give Texans and the rest of the country a meaningful insight as to where these candidates stand on the issue of a NAFTA superhighway. A highway to be operated by foreign interests, that will use government power to take private land by force to facilitate the rapid movement of predominantly Chinese imports into America and thereby generate private profits on the use of public infrastructure.
CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight spotlights the TTC.
On Tuesday and Wednesday leading up to the Thursday night debate CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight show airs two solid segments on the Trans Texas Corridor. CNN reporter Bill Tucker discusses the issue with Lou Dobbs on his nationally televised CNN program. It appeared that the stage was set for answers to these questions by the Democratic candidates.
"Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire."
That's how Linda Curtis of Independent Texans reacted when CNN failed to ask the TTC NAFTA superhighway question they had assured her organization would be included in the debate. In an open letter to CNN's Political Director Sam Feist, Curtis said, "Texans want federal action and a Congressional investigation. You could have aided in this effort, but what you did was even worse. You made a promise, and then you let us down."
A CorridorWatch.org Call To Action.
Although CorridorWatch was not directly active in pressuring CNN to ask the TTC NAFTA highway question, we certainly supported the effort to do so. The TTC is a vitally important issue, not only to Texans, but all Americans. Working together with groups and organizations, such as Independent Texans, CorridorWatch is raising awareness and educating citizens about the TTC.
We have sent you, our non-Texas members, this Special Bulletin as a request that you help us demonstrate that the Trans Texas Corridor issue is bigger than Texas. Because you care, and because you are beyond Texas, we believe you can have a unique impact on CNN's coverage of this issue.
Please take two minutes to e-mail CNN.
You are in an unique position to elevate this to the national discussion, something that our Texas members would have a difficult time accomplishing. A quick e-mail to CNN Political Director Sam Feist expressing your interest, concern, or issues with the TTC NAFTA highway, together with your name, city and state, will help us demonstrate that the TTC is not a Texas only issue.
Drop Mr. Feist a quick note. It is our hope that he receives e-mail from the hundreds upon hundreds of CorridorWatch members that reside in the 43 states outside Texas. To be effective we need your help and your voice today.

James,
Yesterday, the Senate heard our message loud and clear.
Your calls resonated, causing a panic amongst Senators who moved quickly to close a loophole that would have granted illegal aliens monetary rebates!
But, the battle isn't over. Our Capitol contact urged us to keep the pressure on the Senate saying we have to remain vigilant in our demands that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should illegal aliens receive rebate money.
We were told that Senator John Ensign (R-NV) is crafting an amendment to the stimulus package that would ensure illegals do not receive any benefits.
Here are the key points of that amendment:
--Stipulates recipients must be lawfully processed.
--Tax ID's are prohibited (Social Security Numbers would be used, and although there is no mechanism for sharing information between the DHS, SSI, and IRS, it is better than the original plan that looked only at Tax ID's.)
--The Ensign amendment makes certain that names and Social Security numbers are checked against no name or suspect number lists.
James, Grassfire is calling on ALL members of our team to take to the phones once again urging Senators to support the Ensign amendment.
Please call (your Senator) as soon as you receive this message. After calling, pass the message on to family and friends urging them to follow your lead.
++ "The IRS doesn't care!"
Grassfire also asked why and how illegal aliens can receive tax identification numbers? Our Capitol contact said matter of factly, "The IRS doesn't care!" In fact, "Unless there is big money involved the IRS doesn’t want anything to do with it."
James, this is unacceptable, and the people of this nation who do care have got to take decisive action. Please pick up your phone and make your calls to prevent illegal aliens from receiving rebate money!

James,
I have just learned that the just passed House Stimulus package intended to jump-start a sagging economy by giving citizens rebates, also includes cash benefits for illegal aliens!
Yes, James, you read that right.
According to FOX News, the plan would benefit those illegal aliens who qualify as "resident aliens" - meaning they have spent a substantial amount of time in the U.S. and have not yet been deported.
These so-called "resident aliens" also must have been assigned an Individual Tax Identification Number.
What?
Assigning a tax number to an illegal alien in-effect legitimizes their right to be in the U.S!
As Rep. Tom Tancredo said to FOX News, the bill will certainly stimulate "more illegal immigration."
James, once again this is a slap in the face to citizen taxpayers, and I'm calling on you to take immediate action with me by calling your Senators and demanding rebates to illegal aliens be dropped from this bill.
This bill easily passed through the House (385-35), and it is my hope that our Grassfire team will be able to restore some sense and sensibility as this bill progresses through the Senate.
But don't delay. Call and express your outrage today.
Pro-Life Activist Norma McCorvey (‘Jane Roe’ of Roe v. Wade) Endorses Ron Paul for President
“Ron Paul doesn’t just talk about being pro-life, he acts on it”
WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday, January 22 – the 35th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision – Norma McCorvey has endorsed Texas Congressman Ron Paul for president.
Norma McCorvey runs Crossing over Ministry – formerly Roe No More Ministry – and is best known as “Jane Roe” in the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision.McCorvey, who is now a pro-life activist, issued the following endorsement of Congressman Paul:
“Ron Paul states, ‘The right of an innocent, unborn child to life is at the heart of the American ideals of liberty.’
“I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal, that of overturning Roe v Wade.Ron Paul doesn’t just talk about being pro-life, he acts on it. His voting record truly is impeccable and he undoubtedly understands our constitutional republic and the inalienable right to life for all. Ron Paul is the prime author of H.R. 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v. Wade. As the signor of the affidavit that legalized abortion 35 years ago I appreciate Ron Paul’s action to restore protection for the unborn. Ron Paul has also authored H.R. 1094 in Congress, which seeks to define life as beginning at conception. He has never wavered on the issue of being pro-life and has a voting record to prove it. He understands the importance of civil liberties for all, including the unborn.
“After taking all of the presidential candidates into consideration, it is obvious that Ron Paul is the only one that doesn’t just talk the talk. For this reason and those stated above, I am publicly endorsing Ron Paul for president.”
