John Wunderlich :: Blog :: Everybody share ideas how we can organize conservatives opposed to McCain and get a real conservative on the ballot as an independent.

February 19, 2008

Please share your ideas about how conservatives can organize and get behind a real conservative to go on the November ballot. There are so many conservative groups and individuals livid about the choices for the November election that we cannot all be paralyzed because the Republican Party has let us down.

  2. Ballot access laws vary state by state.  Oklahoma, where I live, ballot access laws are the most strict in the nation and we will not have a third party option on our ballot in November.

Go here for information about it:

I just cannot see getting a new party organized and a POTUS candidate on the ballot in enough states to have any measure of success this November.  I do not mean to sound defeatist, just being realistic.  That is certainly something we can work toward for 2012, but IMO our efforts now need to be on taking control of Congress, and that means getting people to the polls.
Check out this map.  Donate your money to the candidate campaigns, not RNC.

  3. We are losing 7 Republican Senators and 32 House seats this year.  I am not sure of the exact margin in the House, or how many we need to elect to get a majority there, but we must elect 10 Republicans in the Senate from the 33 who will be running to get a majority and be able to chair committees and set the floor agenda.  We need 19 to be able to shut down filabusters (60 votes).  As time goes on I will be able to determine what Democrats we might be able to count on,

  4. I agree, Bobbie.  With the volatility of the Presidential race and possible turnarounds with either party and the candidates possibly coming in and out of the race, or staying in, we simply need to concentrate on (and making a goal) putting the right senators and representatives in place.  At this point, this goal may be the only thing we can accomplish.
