January 06, 2008

Hi Everyone,

Thought you might like to hear some insight into the primary here in NH. Listening to the local radio this morning, I heard that Duncan Hunter is pulling some support possibly away from McCain. Even though Hunter was excluded from the ABC debate. Hunter held a conference call with 3400 independent voters in NH. Bob Smith and Yager are campaigning in NH with Hunter. Hunter won some delegates in the Wyoming caucus. Also Duncan's son is back from Afghanistan as of Dec. 7th and is now running for his father's Congressional seat. I heard that from Hunter himself as he was interviewed on the radio. When he was asked if he would be spending some money to organize his campaign, he avoided the question and said that he was doing great and was sending out one mailing. I hope and pray he is able to pull enough support to stop McCain in NH. The McCain machine is spectacular to see. At our monthly Republican county meeting yesterday, Tom Ridge, former Bush secretary of Homeland Security, came to speak to us on behalf of McCain. That talk was interesting as he spoke of our need to elect McCain for our "security and prosperity". Also the need for a way to allow legal workers to enter our country easily with legislation for a new biometric id. McCain understands what is needed for our "security and prosperity". It is interesting to have a front row seat at the destruction of our sovereignty assault. I hope a lot of people who would vote for McCain because of Tancredo's withdrawal will vote for Hunter. I know many local Tancredo supporters are debating between McCain and Hunter and if he shows any effort to campaign they will go with Hunter. Thankful for that. Tancredo's withdrawal from the race has left a huge gap. You can hear the panic in the voices of some former supporters as they struggle with someone to vote for. Here is something for you to think about. The Tancredo withdrawal helped give the Iowa caucus to Huckabee because all his supporters were left without a good choice and therefore switched to Huckabee. Now in my state I see the same frantic struggle with the choice going to McCain if Hunter does not appear to be serious. Tom Tancredo had much more support than he realized and his withdrawal precipitated exactly what he said his withdrawal was designed to stop, McCain. If Tom Tancredo had stayed in the race, I believe Huckabee might not have won in Iowa and McCain would not be as strong in NH. There will be a recession if not depression this year so prepare if you can. All the economic signs are there. Will write on this later

God Bless to ALL

  1. Thank you, Anne.  I have started threads for Duncan Hunter on the Nashua Telegraph and Manchester

Duncan is not going to get any attention from the press.

  2. I have a feeling that you are right about the effect of Tom's withdrawal. I think that the timing of his quitting had more to do with Bay wanting to be on Romney's team by the Iowa Caucuses than anything else.

  4. Duncan Hunter won the endorsement of the Navada Republican Assembly over the weekend.  Read article and post a comment at this link:

Navada will have their Caucus (not a primary) on January 19.

  5. It is good to hear that Rep Hunter is going to keep his campaign going.  Since Rep Tancredo has ended his campaign I have had time to think about who if anyone I will support going forward.

In general I had considered Rep Hunter my 2nd choice.  Nonetheless, I took another close look at several other candidates in an effort to determine if there is anything that would lead me to reach a decision other than to support him now.

While I am pleased that other candidates are now bringing forth improved plans to address illegal immigration there is no other candidate who has ACCOMPLISHED what Rep Hunter has with regards to the issue.  There are issues that other candidates present strong positions on.  However, as a lifelong conservative no other candidate has a record, perspective on fundamental issues and view of The United States of America's place in the world that is as deep seated and steadfast as Rep Hunter's.

Therefore, I am now supporting Rep Hunter for President.

  6. I marvelled before, when read that with each new poll where Hunter would be at 1% or 1.5%, he would get all happy, "Yes, it is a victory - I am definitely staying in"!

That should wipe some noses there, shouldn't it?!

...and by the way! There are mature, polite and highly intellectual pick up the phone at the campaign office. You cal and talk or should you leave a message - they call you back within a few hours!
