Think Tanc :: Blog :: Why Tancredo?

October 29, 2007

Every single time I meet a person who is a dedicated Tancredo supporter I wonder why did they chose him among others? I am sure every one of Tancredo supporters has their own story. I am all ears. Why Tancredo?

  1. Two and a half years ago, Tom visited Oklahoma on a Take Back America tour and I heard him say at that time "If this congress does not do something about illegal immigration in this country, I will run for President in '08"  I was struck by his passion at that time and vowed "And I will support you".  I began watching him and he has never disappointed me.

From that time until he announced illegal immigration, illegal immigration doubled in Oklahoma. We have had a belly full of it.  Our State Legislature passed a bill in May 2007 to address the problem, but we need Tom Tancredo to enforce the laws already in place for the rest of the nation.

  2. I read his book, In Mortal Danger, and realized he was the only legislator/candidate speaking out on the illegal immigration travesty.  Something just clicked within me that this man had the moral fortitude and ability to tackle the years of problems that illegal immigration had brought upon our nation.

In addition to that, his unwavering stances on the issues and his refusal to pander to special interest groups swayed me to his way of thinking.  The idea that he wants to maintain the sovereignty of our country was the biggest motivator, along with his Rule of Law attitude.

There is not one other candidate who has the passion this man possesses, and you want to follow that passion and tell everyone what a gift he is to our country.

  3. I like that Tom is in this campaign for AMERICA, not for ego or power.  I like that he is not accepting contributions from corporations and special interests, proving that he intends to serve WE THE PEOPLE, but the people are not hearing his message where they get all of their information; the main stream media.  I weep.

  5. I always admired Mr. Tancredo's views on defending the border. Once he began his campagin, I was ecstatic to learn that we share the same views on virtually every major issue. He just seemed like the natural fit. I love his straight from the hip style. Not typical politician speak.

  6. I heard Tom on a shortwave broadcast interview a couple years back, not long after his heated telephone exchange with Karl Rove, in which he was told that he was no longer welcomed at the White House.  His concern for our unsecured borders is what really impressed me.

In the debates, although he doesn't get many questions, his responses are always to the point.  Example: When the question was "Should we drill for oil off the Florida Coast?" most other candidates gave answers relating to environmental concerns and needs of the nation.  Tom said that we currently buy oil from people who would like nothing better than to see us all dead.  Therefore we should drill oil anywhere that we can find it.  I was really impressed.
